Coin Earrings from New Zealand with sterling silver hook and sterling silver chain suspending a six pence and three pence coin. With this pair I have attached two sterling silver chains onto an air hook and soldered two coins onto the silver chain. Funky wee things they are.

These are genuine pre 1967 New Zealand coins that has been converted into earrings.

Six pence is 3/4 of an Inch or 19mm diameter.

Three Pence is 0.6 inch or 16mm

The bird on this six pence coin is the extinct Huia. The tail feathers on these are black with a white tip and was used by the native Maori of New Zealand as a hair accessory like the American Indian.

The three pence coin have two Maori clubs on them. If you are lucky enough to have seen these in museums you will appreciate the beauty of them often very elaboritly carved in Whale bone or wood.

New Zealand got its official currency in 1933 and in 1967 it was changed to decimal so the dates on these will vary between the dates 1933 - 1967. If you want a particular date between those years please feel free to let me know and I will do my best for you but cannot guarantee any date as some are harder to find than others.

DATES WILL VARY BETWEEN 1933 TO 1967.
