Big dark purple fruit with a rich sweet flavour. Great slabbed on toast, raw or roasted. Makes a gorgeous sauce. This Russian heirloom is a great all-rounder.
Start tomato seeds indoors in seed trays in late winter or spring and bring them on in pots until the last frost has passed. Harden off carefully for a few days before planting outdoors or in a glasshouse.
Indeterminate tomatoes need support as they grow and their laterals pinched out, encouraging a cordon-style growth. After the fruit starts forming thin the lower leaves to assist ventilation.
Open pollinated - some variation possible.
