Huia - a Native Manu print

Listing image #349900
Huia, such a beautiful bird with such a sad ending. Here a stunning female huia perches precariously on a branch. One of our beautiful natives who became extinct with the arrival of European settlers to New Zealand. One of the special things about this species was the fact that males and females had different shaped beaks so they could inhabit different niches in the ecosystem.

Subtle shifting hues of prussian blues, brown, umbres and blacks have been layered up to capture the different hues within her glossy plumage. The painting was then scanned and printed off using quality inks and paper.

It would suit vintage and Scandinavian modern minimalist interior spaces. The print comes unframed but this means that you can add your own touch to suit your decor.

Your treasure will be shipped to you carefully encased in cellophane (you can put this in your compost) and posted within a sturdy reinforced envelope to prevent it from being damaged in the post.

Handmade in Aotearoa.
