Prayer beads and rosaries have been used for centuries as an aid to prayer and mediation. Running them through your fingers and using them to count prayers or affirmations is a soothing way of engaging both mind and body in meditation.
This set has 12 prayer beads and one larger introductory bead to begin the prayer or meditation with. Members of 12-step programmes find these beads especially useful as the number of beads corresponds to the number of Steps in the programme of recovery, and the Serenity Prayer is used in most recovery programmes.
This lovely set is made with 9 crackle glass beads in a pale ice pink colour, and 3 x 8mm round pink catseye glass beads. These three beads are separated by an extra koru link for those who wish to emphasise the first three steps.
The beads come together at a silver pewter heart connector, leading to a pink rhodocrosite introductory bead between two butterflies - the symbol for transformation, renewal and change. The anchor bead that both begins and ends the strand is a beautiful piece of clear crystal quartz gemstone, cut by hand to show its wonderful clarity.
Length: approx 21cm looped. The beads come with a pamphlet explaining their purpose and suggested use along with the full version of the Serenity prayer.
