Starlight: one-of-a-kind necklace with sun-catcher crystal pendant on sterling silver chain

This unique statement necklace features a repurposed sun-catcher crystal, wrapped with silver coloured, artist-quality wire, and suspended from sterling silver chain.
The necklace fastens with a sterling silver, hammered-look toggle clasp from Thailand.

'Starlight' is a one-off Silverlight Jewellery design, never to be repeated.

The crystal is teardrop shaped, with many diamond-shaped facets. It used to hang in somebody's window, scattering rainbows around the room when the sun hit it; and where the facets come to a point on the front and back of the pendant are the tiniest of dings where it has bumped against the window pane. Because it was designed to catch and refract light, the crystal pendant sparkles brilliantly and, naturally, still throws beautiful rainbows!
The crystal has been carefully washed, wrapped with artist-quality, non-tarnish, silver-coloured wire, and strung on bright, sterling silver chain with oval links. Sterling silver is at least 92.5 percent pure silver, so while the chain and clasp may need the occasional gentle wash and polish, the silver will not rub off like silver plating eventually might. The wire will not tarnish, but should not be polished or scratched.

The chain measures 42.5cm, including both parts of the toggle clasp. The crystal pendant measures 23mm across, 37mm from top to bottom, and is approximately 14mm thick. Including the wire-wrapped baile (hanging loop), the pendant comes to 51mm in length.
