COVID-19 Guidelines


Felt users are required to adhere to the following restrictions, based on the current Alert Levels:

Information for buyers


Please be aware that if regional lockdown measures are in place, this means that sellers may be operating under a different Alert Level to yours. You can check where an item is being shipped from under the Payment & Shipping tab in the listing description.

Your purchase will be subject to the restrictions the seller is required to adhere to. Please note that sellers in Level 4 regions are not permitted to ship non-essential items.

Level 2

Under Level 2, there are no restrictions on shipping, however when receiving your orders, it’s prudent to practice good hygiene. Research has suggested that the virus may survive on surfaces for up to a few days, so:


Level 3

Please note that under COVID-19 Alert Level 3 there may be shipping delays due to restrictions and demand for courier services.

Shipping during Level 3 is at the discretion of the seller. Please contact the seller before purchasing if you need to know when your order will be despatched.

Under Level 3, all transactions must be contactless. Maintain a safe distance of at least two metres from couriers.

When receiving your orders, it’s important to practice good hygiene. Research has suggested that the virus may survive on surfaces for up to a few days, so:

Level 4

Under Level 4 restrictions, orders can be placed but the seller is not permitted to despatch non-essential items until restrictions are lifted.

Items classified as essential under the Government guidelines can be shipped at the discretion of the seller. Please contact the seller before purchasing if you are unsure about the status of the item or the policy of the shop.


Guidelines for sellers


Level 2

Under Level 2, businesses should maintain hygiene measures, including physical distancing, hand washing, and regularly cleaning surfaces.

When processing your orders, it’s prudent to practice good hygiene:

Remember to communicate with your buyers. If there’s likely to be delays with their order, let them know.

Level 3

Under Level 3, you are permitted to process and send your Felt orders using contactless delivery. This means via courier pick up, or you can use local post boxes to post small items.

Shipping during Level 3 is at your discretion, subject to your ability to process and send orders within the Level 3 requirements.

Some NZ Post retail outlets may also be open at Level 3 offering the standard NZ Post products and services. Check the NZ Post store locator for information on which stores are open and their opening hours.

Remember to communicate with your buyers. If you are not able to ship during Level 3, or if there’s likely to be delays with their order, let them know. 

Customers will also be notified throughout the Felt checkout process that shipping delays are possible.

Level 4

Orders can be placed but you are not permitted to despatch non-essential items from a Level 4 region until restrictions are lifted.

Items classified as essential under the Government guidelines can be shipped at the discretion of the seller. The Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment has provided these guidelines on what non-food consumer products are defined as essential.

Remember to communicate with your buyers. If you are not able or willing to ship essential items during Level 4, or if there’s likely to be delays with their order, let them know.
