We love seeing maker skills being put to great use, and we think this initiative by Forest and Bird’s Kiwi Conservation Club is just fantastic.
Summer is here and we’re off to the beach, the bach, the camping ground, Grandma’s… You name it, lots of us will be on the road to somewhere. Long hours on the road can be their own special kind of hell delight with wee ones in the back (“Are we theeerrre yet?”), so we’ve come up with a few boredom busters to alleviate the stress.

Piano Rock: A 1950s Childhood
By Gavin Bishop · Reviewed by Anne Mortimer
With a “to be read” queue that will take me easily into retirement, Piano Rock immediately drew me in thanks to the beautiful silhouettes, line drawings and watercolour illustrations that pepper the bite-sized chapters. With Easter on our minds, all sorts of things around here have been reminding us of the delights of the weekend to come…
“So, Master and Miss Four, you’re thinking about what you want to do with your lives. Yes, you’re quite right, this is the perfect time to be considering your options and here at the Felt Careers Advice Bureau we can help you find the tools to work through this.”

“Spring is here, Spring is here! Life is skittles and life is beer!” Thus sang Tom Lehrer and, if we ignore the fact that the rest of the song gets rather homicidal towards pigeons, most of us would agree that a little springtime weather lifts the spirits and makes the outdoors suddenly seem a whole lot more appealing than mere days ago.
Cute and colourful gifts for kids are something of a specialty on Felt. From books and games to soft toys and dress ups, if you’ve got some little ones on your Christmas, you’ll find something for them in the Gifts for Kids section of the Felt Christmas Gift Guide.
