Crafting for Christchurch: FeltAid returns!

feltaid.felt.co.nz

After the September earthquake in Christchurch last year, Sarah and Ana and a team of devoted volunteers set up FeltAid, a shop on Felt where sellers could donate their goods for sale, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Red Cross Canterbury Earthquake Appeal. The Felt community managed to raise a whopping $4,427 to help out the people of Christchurch in 2010, and as Christchurch deals with this massive second blow, FeltAid is coming to the rescue again.

Once again Felt is providing its services for free, and this time around Anjana is leading the charge with a team of fabulous helpers. You can see above some of the gorgeous items that have already been donated by generous Felt sellers. Head over to the FeltAid shop to see the full range so far.

If you’re a crafter and you’d like to make a contribution, you can do so through the FeltAid blog, Felt Like Helping Out. The FeltAid team are accepting donations throughout March and April, and all contributions are very gratefully received. You can also help out by spreading the word – tell your friends to shop handmade with FeltAid and help rebuild Christchurch!

  1. I was very pleased when I heard that FeltAid had been started up again. I had hoped that it would be, and I am grateful to the volunteers who run it and give other artisans the chance to help by doing what we do best.
