Your account and fees
Does it cost anything to sign up on Felt?
No, it’s free! Registering on Felt costs nothing, and there are no additional costs to shoppers, just the stated price of purchase and shipping.
How much does it cost to get started as a seller?
Selling works on a prepaid system, which covers your listing fees and commission. To start selling on Felt you are required to load a minimum of $10 into your account. You can do this by bank deposit or credit card (via Paypal). Just click “sell” on the home page and follow the instructions.
How much does it cost to list my items for sale?
Each listing costs a flat fee of 50 cents, and lasts for four months. To list your item in extra categories costs an additional 30 cents per category. The listing fee is automatically deducted from your account when you submit your listing and whenever your item relists. Listing fees are non-refundable.
What happens when I sell something?
When your item sells, an 8.5% success fee (commission on item) is deducted automatically from your account. This means, for instance, if you sell an item for $20, $1.70 will be deducted from your account.
If your item hasn’t sold after four months, the listing will expire and you’ll need to renew it.
If you sell more than one of the same item in a single transaction, you will also pay point of sale listing fees (50 cents per item) for the additional items. The point of sale listing fee is for the automatic relisting of your items – i.e. the next four-month listing period it is listed for. So, if you have five items available and you sell one, the listing relists and this costs 50 cents. If you sell two, the listing relists twice, so a point of sale listing fee of $1 is incurred. The listing will automatically relist until all five are sold. When the last one sells there will be no point of sale listing fee charged because the item has not relisted.
What if my account runs out of money?
If your account becomes overdrawn, you will be required to add funds before you can list further items. Commission on sales will still be deducted from your account whilst overdrawn, and you will be required to top up your account and restore the balance.
