From the wild South Island coastline to the intricate order of tiny mosaics

Beach Pebble and Wood Mini-Mosaic Pendant by Pretty Good

In the tiny, idyllic community of Riverton at the bottom of the South Island, collector and jewellery designer Melissa of Pretty Good makes stunning mini mosiacs from hundreds of tiny beach pebbles that appear only when the wind and tide are right. They are hand-collected by Melissa from beaches along the wild local coastline, then sorted by colour and intricately arranged with tweezers into black sand in bases of sustainably grown New Zealand macrocarpa.
