Blue Blooded

'Blue Blooded' - Small limited edition giclée print by Andy McCready, Gilt and Envy

‘Blue Blooded’ is a small limited edition giclée print by Andy McCready of Gilt and Envy, inspired by the apparent origin of the term ‘blue blooded’. Because members of the aristocracy and nobility did not labour outdoors in the sun, their skin was generally paler than that of the workers, allowing their veins to show through more prominently and giving rise to the speculation that their blood was actually blue rather than red like everyone else’s. Hands up if you learnt something today! Check out more of Andy’s stunning paintings and prints on Felt.
