Handmade 2012 is nearly here!

Handmade 2012, Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 June, Wellington

Handmade 2012 is fast approaching – just three sleeps to go before central Wellington becomes craft central for two fabulous days of workshops, masterclasses and lectures, as well the Meet the Makers party on Saturday night. And it’s not too late to nab tickets! Head over to the Handmade 2012 website and check out the programme.

As part of the Handmade lecture series I’ll be speaking on both Saturday and Sunday about the effect of the earthquakes on the Christchurch craft community, some creative responses to the aftermath of the quakes, the emergence of “quake craft” and my vision for the future of Christchurch craft. Sound like your cup of tea? I’d love to see you there!

There’s 80 different activities to choose from, creative folk converging from all over the country, a Knit Lounge that’s open to the public all weekend and even a Handmade store featuring heaps of gorgeous handmade products – what’s not to love? Come along for a class or two, or make a weekend of it and treat yourself to a Weekend Pass to really get those creative juices flowing. See you this Queen’s Birthday weekend at Handmade 2012!
