Christmas markets around the country

It’s the final countdown (cue dramatic ’80s soundtrack) to Christmas and there’s a colourful cluster of maker markets still to take place around the country, where you’ll find gorgeous handcrafted gifts to fill your present list.

This Saturday, 21 December sees a trio of excellent markets for all you last-minute Christmas shoppers. Just outside of Hamilton, the Tamahere Country Market comes to life at St Stephens Church bright and early from 8.30am until 1pm. This open air market features local produce as well as locally made products, so you can stock up the seasonal larder as well.

Meanwhile in Auckland Crafternoon Tea once again rocks Crafty Kingsland with over 42 stalls of talented makers from 10am to 3pm at 400 New North Road. To celebrate this last market of the year there are 30 goodie bags up for grabs for first arrivals at 10am!

But that’s not all, Auckland! The Papakura Homemade Market, at Pahurehure Shopping Centre, Corner of Elliot Street and Rushgreen Ave, will be bursting with local artists and craftspeople from 9am – 12pm.

And Napier folk, don’t forget that the Made It Here Craftmas Market is running daily from 10am–4pm at 14 Hastings Street, Napier. This market of more than 20 indie craft makers and designers will be available for your perusal right up until Christmas Eve.

Finally, don’t forget that you can also avoid the crowds and shop for crafty goodness from the comfort of your own home, anytime, here on Felt. Just check out our Christmas Gift Guide – it’s bursting with creative ideas.
