From the Start...
Upstream Design started from a little dream in a little red cottage in a very windy little town called Windwhistle. The little dream then grew and grew and has now moved to a big white house in Rotherham, North Canterbury.
After 18 months of being a stay at home Mum and living in the middle of nowhere it was high time that I needed something more interesting in my day than cooking, cleaning and walking the dogs. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE playing with our very active daughter but she recharges her batteries for up to three hours some days - the perfect amount of time to get my hands busy ... but I couldn't think of anything that I could do from home and enjoy.
While away on a girls trip involving shopping, eating, relaxing and more shopping we were looking at jewellery and the idea came to me - I can make jewellery from home and I would love it .. this is when the dreams started and haven't stopped.
I started with a few simple necklace and earring designs and after selling out within the first couple of weeks of launching my website I decided to devote more time to designing and creating and now I can’t find enough time to make all the ideas I have but still love the time that I do have jewellery making.
