Since moving to NZ in 2007 I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to indulge my passion for crafting. I love to 'create' but have never yet confined myself to 1 medium. Some weeks its glass, others paint, currently fabric. My house is full of materials, my head full of ideas and I create when time permits.
I am currently a stay at home mum to 2 adorable (and exhausting!) little men. When I had my first son I did the "new Mum" thing and went out looking for original things to enrich and individualise his bedroom. I traipsed the shops and spent time on-line but was disappointed in the local choice available for little boys - I was reluctant to import and absolutely determined not to decorate using licensed products!
As I couldn't find my ideal decorations I set about making them myself - creating original and inexpensive ideas to make their rooms cool and funky!
Once the boys rooms were done, friends started asking me to make things for them and my crafting has escalated from there! Within the past 12 months I have taken my creativeness to the next level by selling at craft markets around the Waikato.
I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to do what I do and am really proud of my end products. I am always happy to create custom orders so if you have specific colours, sizes or styles in mind please do not hesitate to contact me. I am always making new products so keep an eye on my store for new and exciting creations.
Finally, why Lola Duck? As many mums of boys will know life in a house full of males can be pretty 'full on' at times! 'Lola Duck' is my creative, female member of the family with whom I enjoy spending time making beautiful things for boys and girls alike.
