I'm a German-English translator by day, but in my spare time I like knitting socks using German knitting wool "Opal" with its automatic patterns and bright colours. I recently developed a habit of making little people out of leftover sock wool. I have a theory that toddlers would be less likely to tug off their hats in winter if they had a playmate to go with them. See my shop for current range of hats and mates.
