Description
What on earth is a scoody? Also called a snood, it's a hood with a scarf attatched. These have been a rethreads favorite for about 4 years now, and I have refined them over that time into a pretty nice garment (if I do say so myself!)
They have a curved hood, and darts on either side of face, meaning they can fit snuggly around the head. I call this design the "Jean Batten" because they remind me of an aviators hat. (google "Jean Batten photo" to see what I mean.)
I've shown one styling option here - there are at least four. Let the scarves hang down, tie them, push the hood back like a scarf (my fave), or wrap it as shown. You 'll find some variations on my facebook page: rethreadsnz.
I listed this scoody under *menswear* because, well, why not! Guys wear scarves don't they? And hoods, right? So why not one of these? I sell the odd one to a guy, but usually they are from overseas. So, come on kiwi blokes - get with the program!
This is a slightly textured charcoal wool. It may be handknitted. It's snuggly. And not too "out there" for a useful winter accessory.
Measurements:
Length of Hood: 51cm
Depth of Hood: 24cm
Length of Scarves: 57cm
