A little Bush Baby inspired by our native and very rare short-tail bat , pekapeka.
It is trying so hard to look scary and spooky...!
It's wings are made from black silk, singed at the edges, nice and flappy.
It's body feels wonderfully soft and is shiny with embedded silk.

My “Bush Babies” reflect NZ flora and fauna and are made from handblended merino wool, felted and lovingly handstitched to my own pattern.
8.5 cm in length. Face and hands are cotton , they have a wire inner and are poseable . Angora curls for hair and simple faces so that a child can imagine any emotion ; in the Rudolph Steiner style.
They are meant for gentle play , or for a nature display table in your home. Not recommended for children under 3 yrs of age
