During the Depression store bought toys were an unattainable extravagance. For this reason thrifty mothers began to refashion worn socks into various toy creatures for their children to play with. The sock monkey was born!

Now you can make one of your very own. The kit has all that you need to make a classic sock monkey including:

* A pair of socks (in the colour pictured)
* Stuffing
* Thread
* Needle
* Buttons for eyes
* Instructions

All packaged in a robust and reusable box so you can take your project with you anywhere you go. The only thing you need to supply is a pair of scissors sharp enough to cut through fabric.

The instructions are easy to follow (suggested for ages 10+) . All you need to know how to do is a simple whip stitch or back stitch - anything that will hold a seam closed. Your sock monkey will take you about 2 hours to create and when you've done one you can just keep on going with any socks you like!
