A set of four oversize quotation mark magnets to punctuate notes on the office filing cabinet or fridge. This is form and function for type-geeks; office decor that can hold stuff!

I have loved getting intimate with these characters; following their forms with as much hand-made precision I can.

From Ellen Lupton's 'thinking with type':
"A well-designed comma carries the essence of the typeface down to its delicious details. Helvetica's comma is a chunky square mounted to a jaunty curve, while Bodoni's is a voluptuous, thin-stemmed orb"

In light of this, I have two sets to choose from ~

Each measures approx 90mm tall
They hug closely to your fridge and at 0.5mm thick, they're super-slim.

Inspired by the contrast of black typography on a white page; these black punctuation magnets on a white fridge are a fun visual metaphor. I also love to work with abstract shapes which tessellate... the apostrophe has been on my list for a while.

These are made to upcycle fabric offcuts as with all of my wallscapes, so they're tactile and textured and guaranteed limited edition.

These ones are black, I also make them in bright yellow - see my other listings. If you love them but feel your quotes would be better punctuated in another colour, just request another colour in the 'notes to seller' area when you checkout. (I have loads of fabrics in every colour of the spectrum waiting to also be upcycled).

HOW THEY STICK TO THE WALL
If you’re interested in using a set somewhere other than the fridge or office filing cabinet, create a magnetic canvas on any ordinary surface - we've painted some walls in the studio and home with magnetic paint. This is easily done in half a day, but there as a permanent magnetic canvas for years to come!
