Description
This is an incredibly soft 12-ply yarn made from 40% possum fur, 50% merino wool and 10% nylon. Possum/Merino is a quintessentially New Zealand yarn. Possum hair is hollow, so it’s much warmer and lighter than wool.
I hand painted it in warm reds, which suits the soft halo of the yarn very well. Reds are notoriously hard to photograph - at least by amateurs like me. So maybe you can imagine the colour a little bit darker, deeper and richer and with more variation than it appears in the photo.
It knits up fast on 5.5-6mm needles. Or, depending on your tension, use 5mm needles for a denser fabric.
Only one ball of 55g left.
The "small" print:
My hand-dyed yarns are non-repeatable runs, which means once they’re gone, they’re gone for good. Please hand wash your yarn with care. Wool labeled “superwash” you can cold machine wash. I take great care to achieve beautiful results that are lightfast and colourfast, but sometimes there is a tiny amount of colour running out of the wool at first, so wash your item separately.
NOTE:
I take commissions.
Please contact me if you live outside of New Zealand.
I will combine postage when possible.
When choosing colours please keep in mind that not all monitors show colours the same.
If you’re not satisfied with your wool you can return it to me in original condition, i. e. with label attached and at your own cost in exchange for different wool or a refund.
I’m a great believer in avoiding waste, and in recycling. That’s why I use recycled packaging materials wherever possible.
If you’re happy with your wool, please let me know and don’t forget to place feedback.
