Macrocarpa and copper light shade - Wrap

A pendant light shade hand made in Christchurch. Crafted from sustainable, New Zealand Macrocarpa, turned copper pins and bamboo fastening clips. The lampholder is lasercut from bamboo, and the frame is made from reclaimed copper wire.

Each piece is hand made by me, at my workshop in Christchurch. The veneer is sourced from Auckland, and all the other components are made by local Christchurch firms. The copper wire is reclaimed from the old internet cables being replaced in Christchurch, straightened and hand polished in my workshop. We have chosen our materials carefully with sustainability and recycling in mind.

The Wrap is an intricate wrapped design, reminiscent of forms found in nature. When lit, the wood glows from within producing a lovely warm light and showcasing the natural woodgrain.

Each shade is made to order, which takes 7-10 days.
