Description
Knitters' Hand Cream - 95g
Part of 2009 I worked in various kitchens cooking, baking or just washing dishes. Coming home from hours of manual labour I’d find my hands chapped, scalded, rough and sore – definitely not the smooth hands I need for knitting, crocheting, spinning and the likes. I really hate the snagging and catching on fibre, so I tried several commercial creams to find the best one for fast improvement. But most of the creams I bought contained preservatives, artificial fragrances, colourings and other questionable ingredients and many are tested on animals.
I've been teaching a Make Your Own Lotions And Potions course for many years, but had never attempted to make a cream specially for extremely dry and chapped hands. So I set out on a bit of a quest to create one that would protect my hands from the ravages of hot water and harsh detergents and keep them smooth and soft for crafting.
For No Snag I don't use any chemical nasties or animal-derived ingredients and the cream is tested only on crafty hands. It is fast absorbed and doesn't leave a greasy sheen. No Snag is also very economical - a little goes a long way - and it smells nice. The subtle vanilla scent is a little flowery and quite "clean". It is not overpowering and doesn't linger too long, either. By the way: The little flecks in the cream are from natural vanilla bean.
No Snag is not just a hand cream - because of its simple formula it can be used for rough heels, as a facial moisturiser for dry skin, body butter or baby cream.
The cream contains water, rose water, a blend of vegetable oils, shea butter, plant-based emulsifiers, wheatgerm oil, cocoa butter, tincture of benzoine and a blend of pure essential oils.
Suitable for vegans.
The price is calculated by weight: 50g/$9, 80g/$14, 90g/$15, 95g/$16.50. Larger quantities are available on request. This listing is for a 95g container. I'm also big on recycling, so instead of throwing the container away you could either re-use it for beads and such, or you could send it back to me for a discounted refill.
If you’re interested, you, too, can make your own lotions and potions, i.e. soaps and shampoos, creams and lotions, ointments, scrubs, cleaning products and even decorative cosmetics. I’m a travelling teacher and hold workshops all over the North Island. I’ve been teaching adults on both islands for many years and can create a fun learning experience for small and medium-size groups. My affordable workshops can take place almost anywhere, but I’m also offering a talk with Q&A if your facilities are not suitable for a whole workshop.
Please contact me if you are interested and think you can get a group together.
