EarthquakeThinking of everyone in NZ right now, particularly in Christchurch - hope all the Felters are okay and that all your friends and family are safe.

Re: EarthquakeI second that. Our thoughts are with you and I hope and pray all Felties are okay. Lucy? Marcel? If I can do anything at all... Whoever set up the fundraiser last time - let's do it again! I'm happy to donate all sorts of goods. Sabine

Re: EarthquakeIt is awful and so sad. Felt is based in Christchurch so I hope that the team, Lucy, Rose and Marcel and their families are all ok.

Re: EarthquakeMe and mine are also thinking of all the Christchurch Felters and wider community. We have been glued to the tv and are in absolute shock. Wish we could do something from up here on the North Island. (((((hugs))))) to everyone down there.

Re: EarthquakeI can't sleep - just thinking about the poor families who have lost loved ones. My lovely daughter was in Christchurch on business today and right in the thick of it; she's fine, thank God, and has found her way to family in the area.
Just so surreal that this is happening... love and prayers to all. Janne |

Re: EarthquakeHi there everyone,
Ana here - in discussions to get FeltAid up and running again. Would be happy to hear from anyone interested in volunteering their time and expertise - especially those involved last time - Sarah got everything set up last time and I'm clueless regarding the listing processes etc - I'm just the ideas gal, writer and paypal troubleshooter ; ) - at this point I'm not sure when we will be able to re-open the shop but I would like to recommend perhaps having designated "FeltAid" items in your stores (all those who would like to get involved) and then donating the proceeds directly to the Red Cross yourselves. Last time we donated 100% of proceeds and postage and packaging was up to the individual sellers (ie. whether this amount was donated as well). However much you would like to donate is really up to individual sellers but I do think it would be nice to stick with the 100% donated standard we've set for ourselves and I will personally be sticking with that - the whole purpose of a person buying that designated item is for the proceeds to be donated after all - well those are just my thoughts anyway. Be safe donating, avoid dubious characters and donate directly! Things are very hectic here esp since my husband drove up to Christchurch to bring my parents back home but I am hoping to have a FeltAid home party some time in the next few weeks at my place. I am very happy to have other local Dunedinite Felters join in - I am even thinking perhaps an entry fee of a bottled water or something? If you'r interested please let me know : ) Ana |

Re: EarthquakeI have just donated 5 hats to the wonderful organisation http://www.facebook.com/#!/handmadeforchristchurch. They will be listed on Trade Me in the next few days and all proceeds will be donated to help the victims of the Christchurch earthquake. Check it out and you too can help. Take care everyone. Re: Earthquakecan i just request if you guys go ahead with felt aid you please please please
get the info on amounts raised and also confirm the donation being made in a timely manner. Maybe before your relaunch see if someone can join the team as the admin person and you set deadlines for delivering money and also communicate once you've done those things. right now on the felt aid blog you wouldn't know if the money from September's fundraiser had been donated yet or not. Obviously i know all of you and know it has, but how would anyone else who followed the blog know? |

Re: EarthquakeHey guys reposting this message from another post i made last night.
I'm hoping to get FeltAid up and running again since there's been alot of interest in people wanting to donate their handmade items. I think it's a great way for shoppers to find FeltAid items under the one shop and last year was such an overwhelming success. The only thing is we still need more people to help run things behind the scenes. If anyone's interested in helping out by loading items into the store, tracking sales and notifying donors when their items sell or helping promote with our blogs and facebook could you please send me a message here or email feltaid@gmail.com Thank you! Re: EarthquakeSupervery - we had technical problems - our emails sat in the Red Cross' junk email folder for months and we weren't able to hand our donation over - this is what the hold up was. Hopefully now that they know us this won't happen again! Hopefully : )
