"Second Time Around" is an art event celebrating all things recycled.
"One person's trash, another person's treasure!"
The show has over 35 artists and crafters involved, and will act like a art gallery show and a pop up shop or market - with buyers being able purchase items on the spot.
Opening night will feature some drummers who drum on old paint pales and trash cans. And a SAW player (as in the tool - being played as an instrument)!
We'll also be having another late night, Saturday 15th 6.30pm-9.00pm, which will feature a series of talks - from one artist who develops her photos using natural plant juices, to a dumpster diving sharing pictures of her scores, to name just a few. You'll also be able to take part in one of our quick recycled art workshops - and walk away with what you make!
Art you can expect to see - collage, junk sculpture, assemblage, traditional mediums painted on alternative surfaces.
Craft you can expect to see - Purses made from lace doily’s. Furniture made from old wooden pallets. Vinyl records turned into bags and bowls. Old damaged books turned into journals and notebooks. Old cassette tape rubbish bins. Sock monkeys. Jewellery made from old clock parts, old coins, paper, beach glass, old toys and computer parts. To name but a few!
This show is going to be huge and diverse! We recommend you check it out and be inspired by what you can do with something that could be considered junk or trash or rubbish!
