Feeling a bit disappointedI love the Christmas Gift Guides - there are lots of great things in there that are already on my shopping list!
I'm a little disappointed at the picks though. In one guide I counted 7 items from one seller - maybe there aren't enough items listed in that category to show a more diverse range of sellers? I'm sure that's not the case in all of them though. Most have double- or triple-ups (including mine) and in one the actual same item is listed twice. I'm very grateful to have products picked and I know it must have taken a long long time to put all of this together but to be honest the two items of mine that are listed in the guides are not what I would have chosen as the best ones for a Christmas gift guide. I have specific Christmas items that have not been picked. As a Felt seller I can navigate my way around and find the items I like. I wonder though for new or inexperienced visitors to the site whether our items will be seen. Perhaps if potential buyers just go to the Gift Guides they will miss out on things they may have found if they searched the site the traditional ways. Anyhoo, I'm happy and disappointed all at once. Hope I've articulated that without sounding like a moaning minnie. It was meant constructively. Hope everyone has a happy and successful season. Andrea x |

Re: Feeling a bit disappointedThat is sad. Just checked the Christmas guides myself and I don't even feature in any of the categories at all. Never mind maybe next year. At least my current customers keep coming back for more.
Merry Christmas everyone. Sonia xxx |

Re: Feeling a bit disappointedI'm very sorry that the Christmas Gift Guides haven't quite ticked all the boxes. It was an ambitious project and for one person, a vast amount of Christmas window shopping!
The reason for the double-ups is that the list of items you see is taken from a larger list of items, so that when items sell (which they are doing, so yay!), they are replaced automatically with a new item from the list. With the existing system, it would otherwise be difficult and extremely time-consuming to keep the Guides populated. However, I've taken note of your feedback and will continue to work on the Guides and hopefully make some improvements over the coming days. As always, do feel free to offer suggestions - we do listen and take action where possible. Items are being selected on the basis of how well they fit the category, the quality of the listing (especially photographs) and for some categories, the price range they fit into. Please don't despair if you haven't been included in the initial pages - there are over 6000 listings on Felt and there's still 5 weeks till Christmas! As items sell and new items are listed, the Guides will be updated and there's every likelihood that items of yours will be included along the way. And every little bit of promotion gets those sales happening and ensures that new listings are being added regularly, so there's value in spreading the word! |

Re: Feeling a bit disappointedI LOVED these gift guides! I have found so many new favourites through them. I've tried making mini versions of these for my blog and it takes me forever so I fully appreciate the huge amount of effort involved.
Perhaps in future Felt users could help with this by contributing our favourite picks, so long as we don't all just nominate our own products! cheers, Deidre |

Re: Feeling a bit disappointedGood to hear comments from others!
Lucy, thanks for explaining about what's going to happen with new items being replaced when ones are sold. That's great! I know it must have taken forever to put it together so thanks for your efforts |

Re: Feeling a bit disappointedLucy, I think you're doing a fantastic job. I am consistently impressed with the quality of this site. It is awesome to have such a brilliant platform to sell our wares from. I am impressed with everything from the communications and selling/advertising opportunities you advise of, to the ease of use of the Felt site. Hard to be fair to everyone with 'Christmas Lists' etc I'm sure. We understand our turn will come! Thank you again for providing this valuable site. - Mel

Jo Hi Jo One of your guitar hero keyring pouches is listed in the postable section – I had a quick peek in your shop just now and recognised it from when I looked through the christmas showcase.
