I am constantly inspired by craft makers - the quality of workmanship and variety of design. I've visited lots of craft shows such as Origin, Collect, New Designers, 100% Design, Liverpool Design Show, London Design Festival, Manchester Craft Fair and August Craft Month in Northern Ireland. I'm particularly interested in the influence of technology on craft - specifically the design results of either embracing or rejecting technology.
I like how New Zealanders tell a story not just in the item they create, but the packaging and display as well. I do wish NZ craft was showcased at leading international events in the same way that the fine arts are at the Venice Biennale.
