I am bound by life’s intricacies; those which nestle in hidden places, waiting to be noticed. In passing, I will pause, collect, muse, photograph, move on.
These fine details then become great things. In selecting, protecting, and preserving, I morphed into Bibliographica: the bibliography of me.
All the inspiration, words, images, places and faces which interplay in my work are in my bibliography. I am a self-confessed bibliophile, bookbinder, photographer, collector, writer, thinker and image-maker.
I have long been drawn to books, text, imagery, paper & pens. Not just as stationary for itself, but the texture of paper; if not the sound of the pen on the page. I found that if the paper & pen do not agree, the journal might not reach its full potential. So I set out to make books with delicious paper, which responds particularly well to black ink or graphite lead. That’s not to rule out or offend other potential writing accessories…
The alchemy of Photography, & Book Arts to me seemed to scratch the surface of a journey. It is all of complimentary, worldly, exotic and limitless. It can be created yet keep creating. And it’s all for passing on….
