Suzie Horne of Curlicue NZ produces her wirework jewellery from beautiful Titirangi, West Auckland. When making her jewellery she takes inspiration from the natural environment around her, and places importance on selecting materials on the basis of how local and sustainable they are. Utilising 100% recycled sterling silver wires, semi precious stones, pearls, paua and Swarovski crystals, her pieces often feature the spirals and curlicues that fascinate her.
Kim and Chris of Born to be BoHo craft the bohemian spirit into every piece of their jewellery ranges, from their handmade and unique works of jewellery art, to their fun and frivolous assembled designs. This spirit is also reflected in their way of life…
Fairytale characters and crystal caves: an adventure wrought in silver
Kim Goulding-Piper of Ore and Wander has been building her relationship with crystal and metal since she was a child. Her journey has taken her from beaches and caves, through managing a chain of prestigious crystal shops in the UK, to Aotearoa, where she now sits in her workshop with a view of snow-capped mountains.
Self-taught makers and artists Logan de Ridder and Mirielle Maxwell of Aotearoa Gems were both born in Northland, and now call South Westland home. They have been working New Zealand gemstones for the past fifteen years and have a life-long passion for them.
