The red poppy is a symbol of war remembrance all over the world. Poppies are worn as a show of support for our Anzacs. During WWI, the red poppy was one of the first plants to grow and bloom on battlefields in the Belgian region of Flanders, hence the poem, written by Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae, ‘In Flanders fields’.
10% of sales from our ANZAC range will go to RSA NZ.
All of our poppy designs are created by us, in our home studio in Christchurch. We take pure copper and cut and dome it by hand. Then we sift a thick layer of vitreous (glass) enamel onto the copper. This piece is then kiln-fired to achieve an even and glossy finish.

Our small poppy brooch measures 19mm x 19mm and the brooch backing is concealed.
The final images show a comparison between the large and small brooch sizes (please note the large brooch is not included).
